Under the rain

The rain poured down on the Burillians' home planet. The Monastery was startingly quiet as most Burillians had decided to stay inside. Most, but not all.

Two Purples were sat side by side on the balcony, holding hands as they watched the silent drops fall from the sky. The male smiled and and looked at his partner, who snuggled up to him happily. He wrapped his arms around her.

"Wonderful isn't it, Asaya? I've always loved the smell of rain." He said.

Asaya giggled. "You would." She paused. "Though I do admit, Salem, that it does smell nice."

Salem chuckled and hugged her tighter.
Both Burillians stood thus for a while, enjoying their time alone.

"You know..." Salem looked at Asaya, and she stared back into his eyes.

"There's something I've been wanting to try..." He continued.

Asaya cocked her head to the right.
"You want to try meatballs?"

Salem burst out laughing. Asaya started laughing with him. After a minute, the young male progressively stopped laughing as his laughter turned into soft chuckles.

"No." He shook his head and took her hand, standing up. Without much of a choice, she stood up with him.

The couple walked out into the downpour. Salem wrapped his arms around Asaya, who in turn wrapped her arms around him. He stared at her lips.

"Actually...I wanted to try...kissing in the rain."

At those words, he approached his lips from hers until the both of them were connected, kissing with an odd gentleness.

Meanwhile inside of the Monastery, Ness, Asaya and Salem's adopted daughter, along with Amyntas, Asaya's brother, were sat on the couch as they watched a movie. When the movie was over, Ness stood up.

Amyntas looked at her. "You're not watching the movie whole? You're missing the credits roll!" He said.

Ness laughed and smiled. "Don't worry Uncle Amyntas, I just want to know what mommy and daddy are doing. Plus I'm hungry and it's almost time to eat. Aren't you hungry too?"

Amyntas' stomach growled. He grinned sheepishly. They laughed.

As Ness stepped out onto the balcony, she couldn't help but notice two Purple Burillians in the rain. As she slightly squinted her eyes, she recognized them both and what they were doing; It was Asaya and Salem who were kissing in the rain. She grinned, and rather loudly, started to say, in a sing-song manner;

"Kissing in the rain, I saw you kissiiiing in the raiin!"

As they heard her, both of the Purples parted their lips and looked into her direction and blushed intensely. "Ness!"

The young Green giggled.

"What are you doing here, lovely?" Asaya asked.

"Just wanted to check on you, and well, it's almost time for the evening meal."

As if on cue, the sun came out, though the rain continued to fall.
Amyntas stepped outside, clueless as to what had just occured. He looked up at the sky.

"Oh! There's going to be a rainbow!"

Everyone turned to him and laughed, as he burst out laughing himself.

Ness sighed happily. There never was a boring moment in this family. And she was glad to be a part of it.
