I really want to change it as soon as possible because Sorella's necklace was a puzzle piece and it irks me now so much. I want to make a temporary ID that could at LEAST last me until january because I just can't anymore. The puzzle piece is an offensive ''symbol'' for autistics and it does not represent us at all. You want to know why?
Here, read this;
unpuzzled.net/
and
autisticalex.wordpress.com/201…

(feel free to look at the other articles)
Also please read this it's super important;
www.cafemom.com/journals/read/…
I would also recommend ''Don't mourn for us'' (Article written by Jim Sinclair.

Anyways thanks for reading.
Have a nice day.

I think "person with autism" should sound as weird to people as "a man/woman with homosexualtude". :bucktooth: I think that's a valid question to ask people when they insist on "person first" language -- "do you demand person first language for gay people? If not, why not?"

I had offered this alternative a while ago... I know of at least one other person currently using it... the thumbnail synopsis is it's supposed to mean "autism is outside the box", as an affirmative way of describing us.
Autism Symbol by woohooligan
I think it has an advantage over the rainbow infinity symbol in that I think any symbol that requires multiple colors is a little handicapped to begin with, since you can't scratch it on a cocktail napkin with a regular pen... in that case, the rainbow infinity becomes just plain infinity, so there end up being who knows how many scenarios in which it's difficult if not impossible to express the rainbow infinity... and it's certainly more expensive if you wanted to have shirts embroidered with it or the like. This symbol or some variation of theme, can be emphasized by making the sides of the A a different color from the square, but ultimately, even if it's all one color, the symbol would still have its meaning.

I also considered putting the top of the A outside the box and the legs inside -- it wouldn't look so much like a TV set that way. :bucktooth:
